About the symposium

We are delighted that you can join us for the manuscript development virtual symposium on electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM) that is associated with the special issue of the Journal of Business Research (JBR). The virtual symposium is co-hosted by Southampton Business School (University of Southampton) and the Montpelier Business School. The online symposium will be held on 6th and 7th May 2021via Zoom.

The aim of this online symposium is to help researchers to further develop their submissions for the JBR Special Issue on eWOM. The world of eWOM is constantly evolving and as interactions become ever so complex, we felt the need for our community of like-minded researchers to come together and build a platform to discuss the important research avenues.

We hope that the symposium will become a hub for researchers and practitioners to network, participate and present their work, and build ties that lead to future collaborations. Researchers who are interested in submitting to the special issue are encouraged to submit extended abstracts to the virtual symposium. Further details on relevant deadlines are available in the important dates section.

The call for papers for the special issue can be downloaded from here. Shortlisted abstracts will be invited to be presented at the virtual symposium and will be discussed with other attendees and the guest editors.

Please note submitting to and/or presenting at the symposium is not a guarantee for the acceptance in the JBR special issue.
